Jeanne M. Gebken

Jeanne was born November 17, 1945, in St. Louis, the daughter of Robert J. Hutcheson and Marie Ann (Roesslein) Hutcheson.

Jeanne graduated from St. Elizabeth Academy in 1963. She married Robert (Bob) Gebken on June 8, 1968, at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church in St. Louis. She spent her days as a homemaker and raising their four children.

Jeanne was a devout Catholic and faithful member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church for more than 50 years. Catholic education was very important to Jeanne, and she made sure that her children attended Catholic schools. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc School’s parent teacher association, in which she was known as the “Campbell’s Soup label lady” for her dedication in collecting labels for education and raising funds for the school. Jeanne also was a volunteer at Deaconess Hospital, where she received recognition for her volunteer work.

Remaining to cherish Jeanne’s memory are her siblings Robert J. (Eileen) Hutcheson and Judy Hutcheson; children Kenneth (Grace) Gebken, Lisa Thibault, Linda (Doug) Bolen, and Amy Gebken; grandchildren Genevieve (Greg) Davis, Sophia Thibault, Lucy Thibault, and Cecilia Gebken; and great-granddaughter Fiona Davis.

Preceding Jeanne in death are her spouse Bob and son-in-law Michael Thibault.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Lucy Catholic Church (St. Joan of Arc campus). Her remains were donated to Saint Louis University School of Medicine’s Center for Anatomical Science and Education.

Jeanne was an ardent supporter of several charities during her lifetime. Per her request, donations in Jeanne’s memory can be made to St. Lucy Catholic Church (St. Joan of Arc campus).
