Doc will be missed. He always lent a willing hand no matter what time of day or night and he did it with a smile.

An old friend of mine died. One of the other tributes reminded me of the yelling. That made me remember, that made me laugh, that made me cry. This isn't for him. He was particular. He was precise. His coworker who wrote about his greeting exemplified how he conducted himself in his everyday life. I will testify to that. I think I will remember how you did not even notice the world if you ever stopped by and he was home. But now it feels like when you stopped by and he wasn't there. You notice the emptiness in the world.

I met John back in high school.  We kept in touch for many years as he was a friend of my husband and nephew.   John was a very caring person.  When my daughter was growing up, John  spoiled her like a favorite uncle.  She called him Johnny, no one else could!  She still cherishes all the teddy bears he gave her as a child.  He let her drive his cherished Vette when she was a teenager.  We thought he was crazy, but that was John.  Even though we lost touch a while ago, we’ll miss you old friend.

We started off not so good but we ended up as friends. I am sorry see you on the other side my brother.  Godspeed Doc.   R I P.  You will be missed!

This breaks my heart. I only knew him from working with him at the City of St. Louis but he was a 1 of a kind. He told you how he was going to do it and there was no doubt that was what he was going to do. I loved his personality. He always made sure if he was in the building he made it a point to stop by my office and say Hi. I will miss him and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Thank you for sharing the pictures of him. It brought smiles to my face to see how loved he was.

So sorry to hear about John’s passing, in early years I’d always see him wave at me as I drove by his house on the corner there at Hoffman/Clifton, down the street from my mom/dad’s house on Clifton Avenue,   One day a car ran a red light at the corner of Clifton and Arsenal and t-boned my car, and John ran all the way down the street to make sure I was alright and  helped be a witness for me.  I will never forget his kindness…I hardly seen him in recent years…and I see he was still a part of one of my long time friend’s family, the Guillot family!  RIP John, Bless you.

You followed my bus home on my first day of high school freshman year. The next day you ran into me (on purpose) in the hallway and knocked all of my books out of my hands and then you helped me pick them up. I knew at that point we were destined to be friends. We had a lot of good and sometimes crazy times! A lot of good, fun memories old friend. After high school I only saw you a couple times, the last being almost 25 years ago, but I still and always will cherish all of the fond memories my friend! Love, Connie

I've known John since I was 6 years old I can still hear him coming out his back door yelling at his grandma but always in a good way as he was helping her out doing something for her that's just who John was. He helped me many times with my family when I needed him he was always there no matter. We would all get together and shovel snow clean the streets make sure the neighborhood was safe something he felt was part of his everyday life I can remember when the neighborhood started getting a little sketchy from time to time he would walk the street at night making sure nothing was going wrong, who did that who actually took the time to do those kind of things John did, he was always a great friend to me I tried to return the favor the best I could. We all had troubles in life he was no exception we all did stupid stuff he was no exception but with John he owned it something that not everybody can say I will miss you my friend Godspeed.

Rest In Peace my friend. You will be missed buy all who knew you. You were a true friend and a great person who lived life to the fullest.

People only get send true friends in  there life's very rarely.We both were honored to have had you in ours.Thank you for being there when we needed your help,even after working endless hours.Your kindness was a God sent.We have lost someone that will never be replaced, but your memories will linger with us for the rest of our lives.You will always be missed dearly.Till we see you again.

What an unthinkable loss, of a most incredible person. It was a blessing to call him my friend. I could go on and on about his kindness and unselfishness, but if you know, you already know.
