Joseph Marino Jr.

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sunday, December 20, 2009. Born August 17, 1912. Beloved husband for 67 years to Helen Marino (nee Zumsteg); dear father of Angela J. (the late Kenneth) Goodman, Joseph Jay Marino and Judith K. (Paul ) Dry; loving grandfather of Tracy (Gary Wilson) Goodman, Erin Hartzell, Cynthia (Scott) Mowry, Nicole Mason, Kelly Dry, Gina Marino and Paul Joseph Marino; dear great-grandfather of 13, brother, uncle, godfather, cousin and friend to many. Joe was a lifelong resident of the Hill; long-time owner and operator of South Side Sewing Machine Company. He was also an active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church on the Hill. Joe was an honorably discharged Marine serving in Iwo Jima during World War II. Proud member and past president of the Harmony Lions Club, Chippewa-Broadway Business Association, the Marine Corp. League and Richmond Heights-Crestwood VFW Post 3500. Services: Funeral from HOFFMEISTER COLONIAL MORTUARY, 6464 Chippewa at Watson on Wed., Dec. 23, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. to St. Ambrose Catholic Church for Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. If desired, please make expressions of sympathy in Joe's memory to Harmony Lions Club. Visitation will be held at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary on Tues. from 4-9:00 p.m.
