I have a life full of wonderful memories since my mom and Aunt Luella were very close and had a special sister relationship.  
One such memory is of the weekly LONG and DETAILED letters she and Mom exchanged.  Mom would say "Here is the St. Louis Post Dispatch" referring to our weekly letter from Aunt Luella.  We would hear about her sewing projects, what the boys were doing, scouts, their friends, Uncle Vince's work, their church activities, social activities and so on.  Each letter would contain many pages of information and love.  
I always enjoyed hearing Aunt Luella telling and demonstrating the story about Old Mac eating the pancakes Grandma would throw him.  
On one of my summer visits to Aunt Luella and Uncle Vince's house Aunt Luella taught/helped me make a blue and red wrap-a-round reversible skirt with flat felled seems.  
Frank and I can never eat a pork chop without remembering how much Aunt Luella enjoyed the Iowa Chop that Frank had grilled for her.  She cleaned the chop up right down to the bone and then some.  Even Old Mac could not have done a better job on that chop and bone!  
I remember her pink nylon sweater that had to originate in the 50's.  She sure enjoyed wearing that old sweater and since it was nylon it was probably still among her belongings.  We sure teased her often about that old sweater.  
When Mom, Dad, and I would visit we most often got a REAL Italian dinner of homemade pizza, lasagna, spaghetti with sauce that had simmered all day, manicotti, or some other special Italian recipe.  
I could go on and on and fill your book myself but the bottom line is that even though I will miss Aunt Luella I am blessed to have a treasure chest packed with awesome memories that lives on in my heart.

I am sharing the most recent memory that Twyla keeps repeating many many times as we talk about Aunt Luella.  She remembers that she went on many trips with Luella and Vince and that she was like the fifth wheel.  In this case the 3rd person in the plane, the bus, etc.  But she states that it was that or stay home and she is glad she went and had a wonderful vacation.  One such trip was to Europe.  She is fuzzy on the details but she knows that she had a great time.  She also remembers when she and "Sissie" went to Florida.  She remembers it was on the ocean but not where.  She remembers the 2 of them spent $100!!! at the grocery store and how they enjoyed sitting on their lanai watching the ships, planes, and stars.

Zerega Family, You have lost a treasure. Nellie's gentleness and kindness will always be remembered. Love Becky & Chuck

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother.
My memories go way back to childhood with her and your dad.
She was sweet and I enjoyed many conversations with her.
Regardless of the condition or age of a parent it is still very hard to say good-bye.
You  have no memory of life without them.
