Oh Peggy and family, my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Richard. 
Having you Peggy and Richard as classmates at Annunciation, you was a pleasure, because you and Richard  rendered warmth, spirituality, and kindness to all in our class. 
Know Richard is in a place of much grandeur. 
The Lord said "what you have done onto the least of these, My brothers, ye have done Me" 
Peggy and all the Knaup family, Richard did a great work, concerning those, Our Lord spoke.

Rich was my boss at the STD clinic on N. Grand in the early 90's. STDs were not my strong suit. However Rich was brilliant and probably one of the best in this industry.

I worked with Richard for many years. He spoke often and fondly of his family - his siblings and their children, his wonderful life-partner Sharon, and his clearly adored daughter.  
Rich was a staunch public health advocate for our underserved and vulnerable population and was never deterred by politics as he ensured critical services where offered to those in need. He was also a boss with high expectations and would go to all ends to ensure his staff had the tools required to do a (measurable) job well done! 
Most regretfully the boys and I were unable to make the visitation and service -  but we send the entire family condolences for the loss of such a loving family man and hope you find peace and comfort in your shared memories and knowing you and your shared love gave him these last few years.

I am so very sad to hear of your family's loss. I did not know him personally. However, I did see him in the office. He has a pleasant smile and disposition. It was always a pleasure to pass him in the hall. I never knew his name or position here at the Dept of Health, but when I saw his face it made me sad. I will pray for your healing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Knaup Family. We were Annunciation, Webster classmates with Richard and Peg. We missed Rich at the 50 yearAnnunciation grade school Reunion. 
We remember how  Richard was a great big brother, from a large Happy Family, always helping with his brothers and sisters.

We started the City VD Clinic at 634 N. Grand on the same day: 27 March 1978. Our desks faced each other for at least 2 years and we had a lot of camaraderie with each other and the other investigators. I jumped off after 4 years, Rich took it to retirement. He was a good man, it's hard to think of him gone.

Rich was always fun during a game of golf.  I remember playing with Rich, Jerry and John in a tournament at Normandie.  Jerry reminded me it was a tournament for the late Michael O'Hearn.  I asked Rich if I could try his driver.  It was a McGreagor as I recall, with a rather loose flex in the shaft.  Longest drive I ever hit, more than 250 yards and in the fairway.  Rich would not sell me the club and I have never been able to replicate that shot.  Thank you Rich for that one great drive.

Richard was in my grade school class of 1966. I haven't seen him since. He was always quiet, kind. We tried to get ahold of Richard and peg for 50 reunion. My sincere sympathy to the family. You are in my prayers.Susie O'Connell.

When I joined City Health Department, Richard Knaup was one of the few managers that welcomed me with open arms. Richard was kind and ready to share knowledge with fellow staff. May God grant his soul a perfect rest.

I went to grade school with Richard and Peg. It is a shame to lose someone so young. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Although I worked for the Kansas City Health Department, there were many common interests that Rich and our staff worked on collaboratively over the years. Following my retirement and move to St Peters I always enjoyed being able to break bread with him over lunch. Rich was one of the good ones.

He was a great man to work for, he will be greatly missed.

I have many fond memories of Richard and his passion for public health.  He was always very good to me and full of ideas about how we could reduce disease rates and risk in the population when I was the State Epidemiologist and later when I was faculty at SLU.  My thanks to his family for sharing him with his public health colleagues all those years and my deep appreciation to Richard for fighting the good fight for the marginalized and vulnerable.

I got to know Richard working for the City Health Dept and he was always had a smile on his face, always friendly and just a great person. I followed him later to the County and he always talked about his great family and enjoyed his work. He will be missed.

Richard was the definition of a truly good person.
He was selflessly dedicated to helping people , whether it was his family, co-workers or the public and did this with kindness and caring. His pleasant , happy demeanor made him a joy to work with.
He will be greatly missed.

Sounds like a good man, who tried to leave the world a better place than he found it.  He will be missed.

Richard was a great leader, a great mentor and above all a great human being. I learned humility, honesty, kindness, and fairness from him. He also taught me through his actions on how to respect, honor and care for ones family. He was very kind and caring. Will miss you. Rest in Peace.
