Rita Slazinik Mayer

Mayer, Rita S. (nee Slazinik), 71 passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Thomas M. Mayer; dear sister of Judith (Charles) Schaeffer; sister-in-law of James (Carol) Mayer and the late Robert (Betty) Mayer; dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many; pet mom to her dog, the late Brady.

Rita was a graduate of Fontbonne and received her Master’s and PhD in Clothing & Textiles.

SERVICE: Funeral, Tuesday, October 2nd from Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa St. at Watson, 9:30 am for a 10 am Mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 4 pm – 8 pm at Hoffmeister. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita’s name to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
