Roger John Fournelle, Sr.

Roger was the cherished husband and best friend of Doris Jeanne (nee Schlattmann) Fournelle; devoted father of Roger J. Fournelle, Jr. (fiancee' Andrea L. Meissen) and Gregory G. (Robin V. nee Dattilo) Fournelle, Sr.; loving and doting grandpa "Pops" of grandsons Hayden R. Fournelle and Gregory G. Fournelle, Jr., and granddaughter/godchild Gabrielle Aurelia Fournelle ("my little girl"); dear brother of Michele Bollwerk; dear brother-in-law of Carol Jayne Liebermann, William J. Schlattmann, Jr., Douglas C. (Carole) Schlattmann, Donna C. (John) Hummel, Sharron A. (Francis) Aufmuth, Mary Judith (Mark) Curran, and Thomas A. Schlattmann; godfather of the late Michael G. Mockler and Henry C. Bollwerk; dear uncle to 31 nieces and nephews, a dear great uncle, cousin, and a friend to many in his lifetime.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Romain and Bernardine (nee Nabbefeld) Fournelle, his sister Yvonne J. Mockler; brothers-in-law Edward M. Mockler, Henry B. Bollwerk and Louis J. Liebermann, Jr., and sister-in-law, Mary Janet Schlattmann.

Roger was born in Saint Louis and attended Saint Raphael the Archangel grade school and Chaminade College Preparatory School. He graduated from Saint Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas with a BA in Marketing. He worked for over 30 years in management for KMart Corporation. After retirement, Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing, target shooting, golf, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Roger was a wonderful man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will take place on Friday, December 5 from 4-8pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street 63109. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 6, at 1pm at Saint Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church, 3949 Wilmington Avenue 63116. Interment immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery.
