Ruth Prange Hanses

Ruth (nee Prange) Hanses, age 94. Baptized into the hope of Christ's Resurrection on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Mr. Eugene J. Hanses for 46 years; loving mother of Eugene J. (Ann) Hanses, Jr., Mary Elizabeth (Brian) Thouvenot, and William P. Hanses; dear grandmother of Matthew and Katherine Hanses and Stephen and Timothy Thouvenot; loving daughter of the late Alfons and Maria Prange; dear sister of the late Rosemarie "Sissy" (Bernard) Striegel; beloved sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many.

A Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Maryville University, Ruth worked for the Catholic Charities' Department of Displaced Persons, and as a real estate agent. She also served as Co-Chair of the St. Louis Archdiocesan Pro-Life Committee, and as a long-time 16th Ward Committeewoman.

Masses or Donations to Little Sisters of the Poor may be made in honor of Ruth's memory.

SERVICES: Visitation 11am Saturday, March 4, 2023 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 6303 Nottingham Ave., St. Louis, MO 63109, followed by Funeral Mass at 12 Noon. Private interment
