

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Kochsiek; son, Dr. Gordon Kochsiek; parents, George and Pearl Kolb and brothers, George Kolb, Robert Kolb and Wesley Kolb.
She was born in St. Paul, on September 24, 1927 and was the eldest of eight siblings. She grew up on the East side of St. Paul and graduated from Harding High School in 1945. Barbara married her husband Vern in Stillwater on December 2, 1946. They lived in St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale, White Bear Lake and Mahtomedi and wintered in Florida for many years.
Barbara loved adventure and travel by land, air or water. Both in and out of the United States. She expressed her creativity through painting, poetry, music, sewing, ceramics and making jewelry. She especially loved flowers!
Survived by her children, Ronald (Judy) Kochsiek and Kathleen Brager; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kochsiek.
And her greatest pride, 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, Kari (Brian) Schafer, Olivia (Blake) Harris, Sophie, Isabel, Jason (Carolina) Kochsiek, Camilla, Joshua, Amy (Steve Winkler) Kochsiek, Viviane, Bennet, Bethany (Tommy) Valentini, Enzo, Carmen, Jennifer (Dan) Kapernick, Omer, Mirah, Stephanie Brager, Oliver, Shelbie, Kyle (Erin) Brager, Cora and Evie; sister, Beverly (Dave) Steinhauser; brothers, Paul Kolb, John (Judi) Kolb, James (Janet Ames) Kolb; sisters-in-law, Darla Kolb and Carole Kolb and many nieces and nephews.

Her life will be celebrated on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior at 10 AM at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave St. Paul, MN 55106. Same day interment at Evergreen Cemetery, 3400 Century Ave Mahtomedi, MN 55110.
