Bruce was a  great friend and coworker. He will be greatly missed by many. I cherished his ability to look past the bad  and live the good. He was a sounding board for me an many. 
I first met and worked with Bruce in 1984. I am a better man for have been given that privilege.

I first met Bruce when my son was a cub scout in Pack 188. When he moved up to the Boy Scout Troop Bruce was his scoutmaster.  Bruce was always ready to share time, advice, help and humor, with his laugh brightening even rainy scout campouts. He helped me as I worked with scouts in the troop, at meetings and campouts, never hesitating to answer questions or help with the boys. I can say that my son would not have gone as far as he did without the inspiration and encouragement that Bruce provided. He will always be someone that I try to emulate as I move through life.

Bruce was my backyard neighbor; we had many conversations over that fence over the years, his laughter was such pure joy, it made your heart happy. When my husband Johns health declined, Bruce took the time to stop and visit with him., for that I will forever be grateful.  
Rest in peace my friend, you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.  
It was my honor to call you neighbor and friend.

Bruce was an ebullient and kind neighbor from the day I moved in behind the Wille family. Over the decades, we had many conversations over the back fence about cars, grilling, the state of the world, and his deep love and pride in his children, and the apple of his eye, grandson Everest. In spite of his illness, Bruce always had encouragement for someone else struggling. I didn't realize he had gone to the hospital,  and am so very sorry to hear of his passing. Wishing comfort and peace to Nee, Autumn and Ben..

Bruce was my first scoutmaster In Boy Scouts. Bruce stood out for his knowledge, friendliness, courtesy, skills, and helpfulness.
Bruce was an instrumental role in myself achieving Eagle Scout by preparing myself for the challenges, tasks, and paperwork needed.
I have a myriad of memories of him telling stories, jokes, and helping myself through Boy Scouts and Life in general. 
Bruce is a person I hope to be more like as I move through life. 

Bruce will always be fondly remembered. My heart goes out to you and your family. He forever positively affected so many  boys to young men in Boy Scouts. RIP Bruce.


I had the pleasure of working with Bruce at Grainger for many years.  Bruce was always a shining light for all at the branch.  He was always up beat, positive, and caring.  The  customers thought highly of him as well.  He was definitely a “bright spot” in my Grainger career.  It was an honor to know Bruce and work with him.  Prayers to his family and loved ones.  He will be missed.

So many memories of Bruce and scouts. He made scouting so much fun. He worked to make earning merit badges fun but still remember what they had learned. He will be missed.

We met Bruce when our sons were in cub scouts.  Together Bruce and Jim were den leaders and then a team running Troop 188 with Bruce as scoutmaster and Jim as committee chair.  For many years Bruce helped us with weighin for our girl scout pinewood derby.  He came with all his tools.  One year a girl brought in a car with a small doll glued on as the driver.  The wheels had gotten glued as well and didn't turn.  I still remember how long he worked to get the wheels to turn and even kept the doll as the driver.  He also came to race day and helped fix any cars that crashed.  Wonderful memories of weeks at Tomahawk BS camp and he had the best laugh I ever heard.  We will miss him.

Bruce was a valued member of Troop 188 and will hold a special place in the hearts of anyone who interacted with him.  He served as a mentor and advisor to so many of us.   He will be missed but glad that he is free of his pain now.

I had the pleasure of working with Bruce at Grainger for several years where he was known for his knowledge of everything, his determined service to customers, his laugh and for the ability to talk your ears off ;).  Many of his former Grainger team members often share stories that include Bruce, highlighting these attributes and always including broad smiles by all.  That is Bruce’s impression left on me; be passionate, stay positive and love what you do.  Peace to Bruce and his family.
