Floyd was born in Ellsworth, WI on July 12, 1928 and was the son of Herbert and Minnie Johnson. He grew up on the family farm and later moved to St. Paul where he met Badri Nahvi. They were married in July of 1962 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua Iowa. He worked for Swifts in South St. Paul until they closed in 1969.
Following that he became self-employed buying rental properties and becoming a landlord. His love for farming led him to purchase land in Bay City Wi and run Johnson’s Tree Farm selling Christmas trees for many years. Over the years Floyd invented and patented a few ideas he came up with while working on his rental properties. Those who knew him often heard him talk about his favorite invention, the “Plumb Pad”. Throughout his life he enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, golfing, spending time at their St. Petersburg Florida condo, and most of all the game of cribbage. He was a member of the North Maplewood Lions Club for many years.
Floyd is survived by his children; Shahla (Jeff) Tipp, Rebecca Lee, Robert Plesha, Nancy Thomas; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Badri; parents; brothers Melvin, Russell, and Clifford; and sisters Florence, Joyce, and Rosella.
Floyd was loved by all who knew him and was known for his wit, generosity, positivity and always seeing the best in everyone.
The family would like to thank his Brighton Hospice nurse, Kristen Kelly for the great care and tremendous compassion she showed.
A visitation for Floyd will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 4-7 pm at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave, St. Paul, MN 55106. A private entombment will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville, MN.
