Geri, so sorry to hear of your Mom's death. Don't know if you remember me-Johnson class of '59. Your Mom lived at Gervais ct. with my Mom and I would always ask her about you. I was planning on going to the visitation but just realized I was a day late-sorry about that. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Josephine was an amazing woman. She always had a smile and was such a caring person.  I always enjoyed seeing her and stopping to talk to her at Marian of St. Paul.  When I would bring my grandchildren to visit, there was always a sucker in the walker for the children.  My one grand-daughter would actually hunt down her "Josephina" as she would say. On our visit on Tuesday, we were both sad to find out she was not there. We picture her surrounded by animals licking her face.  We both lit a candle for Josephine Tuesday evening in her honor.  We will miss her dearly at the Marian of St. Paul. She had such beautiful eyes and kind spirit that will definitely be missed by all. Our hearts go out to the family.

So many memories.  I remember all the Christmas's, birthdays, and picnics.  I remember the great visits at the house on Hoyt.  I remember the wonderful visit when Uncle Frank and Aunt Jo stayed with us in California.  She taught our dog Daisy, how to beg for cookies.  She was my dad's close sister, my mom's best friend, and a wonderful Aunt to me.  She has been and always will be in my thoughts.    Diane Etter Sullwold

I am sorry to hear my Aunt Jo has passed. She was blessed to live such a long life and to see so many grandchildren. She was always so nice to me. I did not know that she was so involved with animal causes. I am the same way, so maybe it is because of her that it's in my blood as well. I will keep up my cause for helping animals and I will make a donation in her name and honor her that way. God Bless her and her family.

My Grandmother Jo was the head of our family. We spent lots of time together at family dinners. We played bingo for lottery tickets and always had fun! She was great Grandma to my kids, but did get to hold her great great grandson Aiden at the hospital on 1/3/14.She loved babies and all animals, especially dogs. Love you dearly Grandma  Laura

My heartfelt condolences to the family. Jo and I worked together at Dayton's many years ago and she was like a mother to me, always bringing me half a sandwich because she knew I was without. Her heart was so big, her love so great for her family, her beloved animals and for her friends. She was such a great lady and I have thought of her often over the years……. She will always be a part of my life.

We were so sorry to hear about our aunt Jo, she was such a wonderful person. When our mother, Evelyn, was at Marian Center, Jo would visit mom and always brighten her day.  Mom and I would also stroll over and visit Jo frequently and spend fun time with her. I share her love of animals and I remember her love for her dogs. I know she has joined them again and both her and her furry friends are smiling and playing.  We will greatly miss you Jo  ~Pat and Larry
