Kim was born Sept 24, 1960, and grew up in Mound. She was a graduate of Mound Westonka High School and employed at Seasonal Specialties for over 30 years. Kim will be remembered for her dedication to family, friends and her community. She and Mike met through her brother when Mike joined the Jaycees and were committed to community outreach with the Jaycees, Lions and countless other community events. She was a woman of action, willing to do the work of serving others to make a difference every day. Kim courageously fought cancer for most of her life. She was an advocate in the fight against cancer and annually lead fundraising efforts through Relay for Life and influenced the raising of over 100K. Kim’s willingness to do for others was also exemplified when she selflessly donated one of her kidneys to save another person’s life. Kim and Mike were truly partners in life, supporting one another through love and commitment during significant medical struggles. They found joy in spending time with family and friends, especially with their grandchildren. “Nana” was proud of their many accomplishments and loved spending time together. She even has a sign in her kitchen: “Nana’s Kitchen, where memories are made and Grandchildren are spoiled.”
Kim is preceded in death by her parents Victor & Jeanne (LaFore) Krotzer; brothers Kevin & Kent Krotzer and nephew, George Richard Curtis.
She is survived by her husband Mike; daughter Nikki (Keith Kochar) and loving grandchildren Kaiden & Kaleigh; faithful four legged furry friend Dodge; brothers Kurt (Tess) and Kory (Heidi) Krotzer; sister Karly (Brad) Curtis; brothers-in-law Tom (Miriam), Jim, Peter (Sue) and John Sorensen; also, numerous nieces & nephews.
