The twin cities have lost a truly  good man with Tommy's passing. I had the opportunity to meet Tommy while doing a review of The Smokin' J's and am grateful to him for his friendship in the ensuing years. He perfected making playing look easy and smooth to his audiences while going at it furiously when observed from backstage. He was much the same in his life--Calm,happy and smiling to the world,no matter the storms "backstage".     Haji

I'm sorry for your loss. Tom always had a kind word and smile when we bumped into each other on W.7th. He was an awesome musician.  Tom was my brother Bear's good friend. I believe in my heart that they are in heaven rocking out, entertaining the the other angels.  Rock on Tom. He will be missed but thought of fondly often.

To the Asides family, I just heard of Tom's passing. I haven't seen him in a while but remember some good time with that guy.. He was definitely a great guy to everyone who knew him. I remember even borrowing his drum set for a gig years ago, that's the kind of guy he was.

Words just never seem adequate in moments like this. I will say though, that my heart goes out to all of you, and I will always remember the joyous memories that I was so privileged to have in knowing Tommy. Were all drummer's at heart my deepest sympathy to the Alsides family I went to school with the Alsides brothers. Seen Tommy play with Paradox at Ryan's corner, he was a nice guy, a great musician and I know Steve and Bear are rockin out with him in heaven.

Tommy's smile, and laugh were infectious. His spirit was undeniable. Tom was a Man's Man. I was introduced to Tommy by my only Brother - I had 2 brothers from then on! I love you Tommy! The rhythm section in Heaven just got a little better! Peace & Love Brother! We'll miss you!

One of the great sorrows in life is losing contact with those we come to know in their youth.  Tom was one of our Boy Scouts at St. Mark Lutheran. Always be remembered as a fun "kid" who worked hard and had a great time at it. Our prayers to the family.

Many of Tommy's friends and co-workers will remember his dead-on impressions of people.  He had an amazing gift for capturing voices, facial expressions and small mannerisms.  And, on top of all that, he was just a happy and kind guy.

I remember Tommy was a very powerful and solid drummer in the Paradox days. Years later I recorded him in the studio and he played great. He was always very friendly with a sweet demeanor.

On a short tour, we spent a few nights together in a fish house.  We laughed, we fished, and solidified a bond that will never be broken.  He would ALWAYS let me sit in and play his drums. I wanna thank the Alsides family, for allowing us to be part of their family the past few weeks. Mary you invited us into your home to share our stories and memories with Tom. I see people saying that Tom was one in a million, I know that he was a one and only. Tom will live forever in our hearts.

They were right when they said "Only the good die young" because Tommy was truly one of the good ones. He always had a smile for you and a laugh I'll never forget.
