

In loving memory of a great mother, strong mentor and wonderful friend. Vickey (don’t call me Victoria) Hobza passed away suddenly of natural causes at her home on April 27, 2022.
Vickey had a great passion for her Catholic Faith and was involved in numerous activities at her home parish, The Church of St. Marks. Vickey was a member of the St. Mark's Choir, the Conference of Catholic Women, Legion of Mary and church Sacristan. Vickey loved animals, especially her cats. She also loved horses and was an accomplished dressage rider when she wasn’t on her motorcycle. Before she retired as a Paralegal for Ramsey County Vickey was a professional musician and one of the leaders of the Kimmel Family Band.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent F. Salas and Ann Gomez-Salas; husband, Edward Hobza who was a retired St. Paul Police Officer and Air Force Communications Specialist. In passing Vickey joined her husband, Edward Hobza, sister, Sue Petersen, a former nurse at the University of Minnesota, brothers, Francisco Xavier Salas, a Special Forces Sargent Major and Richard Gabriel Salas, a Long Haul Trucker and all-round fun guy in what must be a great new family get together.
Her loving family who remembers her fondly are her two sons, Christopher Kimmel, an Army Airborne Corporal First Cavalry and Benjamin Kimmel, a Minneapolis Public School Teacher; grandchildren, Kristina and Johnathan Kimmel From Dawson MN; sister, Mary Lou Salas-Jesness of Rio Grande City Texas, a retired nurse; Uncle Ramedo Saucedo and Aunt Catalina Saucedo of St. Paul; niece Jeanne (Mike) Hallstrom, of St Francis MN, niece, Rachel Salas and fiancé, Jerald Rahn of Oak Grove MN, nephews, Francisco Salas Junior and his son, Mason of Coon Rapids MN, Anthony Peterson (Hillory) of Seattle and Daniel Peterson of Anchorage Alaska.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave., St. Paul, MN 55106.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Visitation 1 hour prior to service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Church of Saint Mark, 2001 Dayton Ave., St. Paul, MN 55104.
Private Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
