Bill was a lifetime St. Paul eastside resident, graduated from St. Paul Johnson high school in 1955. Bill was an architectural draftsman. He earned that degree at St Paul technical College and spent his career working for various architectural firms with most projects focused on building schools. Bill's interests always revolved around building and bridge design, craftsmanship, and visual arts. He also loved history and politics. He spent his time volunteering at church and Habitat for Humanity, visiting art fairs, and attending concerts; especially anything classical or his favorite genre jazz music. In his youth Bill spent most of his free time with friends, friends he kept his whole life, doing things like camping, hiking, fishing, boating, basically outdoor shenanigans of any kind.
Friends and family remember Bill as a quiet man but also possessing a great sense of humor. He was always in the mood for a good joke. He was very hard-working, but knew when it was time to relax, and he deeply enjoyed the quite simple moments in life as well. He was happiest surrounded by friends and family, enjoying a beer, telling stories, and laughing.
He will be greatly missed.
Memorials to Minnesota Services for the Blind, Communication Center Fund: Minnesota and St. Paul state foundation, preferred in lieu of flowers.
