Better known as Freddee, went to her eternal rest on September 13, 2011. She was born on August 9, 1924 to Alex and Jane Nicholson of St. Paul, MN. She was the youngest child of three children, a brother John, and a sister Shirley. Freddee was invited at the age of 12 by a friend and neighbor to attend the Redeemer Baptist Church where she received Jesus Christ as her Savior. She became very active in the church, and later became a Counselor to the youth group and was very influential in many of their lives. After graduation from high school, she joined the U.S. Navy where she was a Seabee and Wave for 18 months until the Second World War was over. She then went back to St. Paul where she worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad as a revenue clerk, but she always wanted to go into Christian work. As a result of this desire, she then attended and graduated from Northwestern Bible College. In 1960, she met Mrs. Helen Duff Baugh, the founder of Christian Business and Professional Women. She asked Freddee to come and visit the Stonecroft Headquarters in Kansas City. While there, she felt led to become a part of this ministry serving as a National Representative, also known as a City Missionary. Irma Norleman, who was already serving in that capacity, was asked to take Freddee out and train her in the city ministry. Together, they started around 100 Christian Business and Professional Women’s groups, After 5s and Christian Women’s Clubs. They were also asked to take over coordinating the 22 yearly area Conferences. Eventually, they trained five additional teams but continued to work ten of the conferences. They also assisted Mrs. Baugh and Miss Clark, National Chairwomen, in opening up the Stonecroft Conference Center in Branson, MO. Later they were asked to work with the Stonecroft Regional Conferences until they retired in 2002. To God be the Glory!
Freddee is survived by her Sister-in-Law, Norma Nicholson; Nephews, Tim & Jeffrey Nicholson & Bruce Coates; Nieces, Pam Niven, Janet Heckmann, Jane Forster & Betsy Kuns; Many Great-Nieces & Great-Nephews; Longtime Friend, Irma Norleman; as well as a host of friends across the country.
