

Albert was a distinguished service member, husband, father, brother, papa, uncle, and friend to many.
He was born on April 5, 1936, and was raised in West Texas.
Albert served our country honorably for 25 years, in the United States Air Force and the United States Army. As a Veteran of the Vietnam War, Abert served two tours and earned a Bronze Star. Ultimately, he achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. After retiring from the military, he began a new career working for Honeywell and Group Technologies.
Locally, Albert was a member of the Rotary Club of Tampa. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and worldwide traveler. He was also an original Tampa Bay Buccaneers Passholder and a lifelong team fan.
Albert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria; daughter, Gloria Ann; Son, Billy Ray (Diann); Cheril; three grandchildren, Aaron, Alexander, and Sierra; two great-grandchildren, Lexi and Liam; two sisters of Texas; Fern Hudgpeth, and Deanna McDonald. Albert was preceded by his youngest son, John.
His passing will be felt deeply by his family, friends, and the community of Tampa, Florida.
In the 87 years that Albert Ray lived, he touched the lives of many; he had a heart of gold, always looking out for others, and was indeed a true hero. He leaves behind a legacy and a lifetime of memories that will forever be in our hearts.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be honored and celebrated. A visitation for Albert will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S MacDill Ave Tampa, FL 33609. The following morning a memorial mass will take place at 10:00 am at Christ The King Catholic Church. After mass there will be a 12:30 committal service with military honors at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
