

Al was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on August 25, 1932. He came to the Tampa area after his retirement as President and Executive Officer of Teamsters Union Local 404 of Western Mass. The local union represented thousands of members employed by 142 companies.
Al was in the US Army and served in the Korean War. He attended Holyoke Community College, Holy Cross College, and Harvard Law School all relating to Labor Law.
His Teamster career started as a union steward, union organizer, executive board member, Business Agent, Vice President and in 1979, elected President and Executive Officer. A member of the union for 36 years. He was the 1st Teamster to be chosen by then Governor King to his Labor & Advisory Committee to meet monthly at The State House in Boston to advise him of any labor problems in the state.
Al was preceded in death by his mother Julia Croutou and father Albert Tardy, son Richard Tardy, sister Doris Boudin Johnson, nephew Alan Johnson, and granddaughter Ashley Scarbrough.
Al is survived by his wife, SueEllen Tardy; children, Sue Winn (Jay), Tammy Krejci (Mark), Albert “Sonny” Boudin; his nieces and nephews, Gail Fedora, Tom “TK” Kennedy, Kenny Johnson and Caron Johnson as well as five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Al's Life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 in Blount & Curry Macdill Life Event Center, 605 S Macdill Ave Tampa FL 33609.
