It is with deep heartbreak that the family of Alexandra Elizabeth Doherty, born October 9, 1989 to Darin and Elizabeth Engh in Ocean City, Maryland, announces her sudden passing on March 1, 2026. Alex was a radiant light to everyone that knew her. She had an infectious laugh, warm kind eyes and a smile that was sunshine. She was an amazing mom, inspiring those all around her with her beautiful joy, patience and love for her children.
Alex loved arranging fresh cut flowers around the house and hosting gatherings with family and friends for any reason. She was always so excited to connect with those that loved her. She made occasions extra special, small moments exciting and life more fun to live.
Alex loved playing lacrosse for Stephen Decatur High School and graduated with Honors. She was thrilled to be accepted to the University of Maryland College Park where she graduated Summa Cum Laude earning a BA in Elementary Education. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta and served as Chair of Philanthropy, organizing events to raise funds for St. Jude.
Alex had a successful teaching career and remained incredibly involved with all of the school community. Her most proud accomplishment was becoming a mother and creating a family with her loving husband Mike and their three beautiful children Millie Elizabeth, age 6, Etta Louise, age 5, and Sullivan Michael (Sully), age 1 ½. Her passion for being a mother and nurturing nature was incredible to watch, and it gave her so much joy.
