
Andy was born on June 5, 1940, in Port Jefferson, New York. He graduated from Port Jefferson High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. Andy enlisted on June 28, 1959, and worked as a mechanic in the motor pool. After 20 years of dedicated service, he retired on June 30, 1979, with the rank of Sergeant.
Andy was married to Kathleen Kimball.
Following his military career, Andy worked at the Bay Harbor Hotel and Conference Center, where he had the unique honor of serving as George M. Steinbrenner’s personal waiter. He later worked as a guide at Busch Gardens Tampa.
Andy was a longtime and faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in South Tampa. He was also an active member of Moose Lodge Interbay Tampa 912 and the Knights of Columbus at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Music was one of Andy’s greatest passions. He was a longtime disc jockey in the Tampa area for more than 30 years, sharing his love of music with countless people. His extensive record and CD collection reflected more than five decades of music history.
Andy is survived by his children, Paula Palazzi of Ohio and Chester “Chet” Palazzi of Tennessee, and by his beloved grandchildren, Olivia Wilkes and Anthony Wilkes.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 am.
