Arthur (Art) Roberts, 68 of Tampa, FL, entered into eternal rest on October 9th, 2023 after a courageous fight with Glioblastoma Multiforme. Surrounded by family, early that evening he peacefully came to the end of his road, lifted by angels into heaven.
Born in Lansing MI, Art grew up in Midland Michigan where he attended Pinconning High School class of 1973.
After several miscellaneous jobs, he went on to attend barber school in Flint, MI where he found his calling.
Art moved to Naples, FL in 1977, where he worked alongside his father Marion (Bud) at the family-owned barber shop for many years.
After his father passed, he moved to Tampa in 2001 to be close to his family and worked with his brother John for several years before going back behind the barber chair, where he truly belonged and made a difference, touching so many lives.
If you were lucky enough to know Art, you were loved by him. Everyone was his friend and he helped anyone in need. He listened intently and always had an open ear, especially for good ole barber shop gossip. Always shows acts of kindness, from not charging someone in need of their haircut, to mentoring his younger clients, and feeding everyone. Known for never saying “no,” and always going above and beyond for his friends, family, or even a stranger.
Art had a passion for playing golf. He spent countless hours perfecting his game and socializing at the golf club, forming many special bonds, and playing his favorite game. He was the happiest when on the golf course with his buddies and enjoying drinks afterward telling everyone what they did wrong and how to fix it.
We will forever miss his infectious smile and booming laughter that always filled any room, his big heart that loved all, his positive attitude toward everything (especially his fight with cancer), and his haircuts. Truly the best barber in Tampa, who made a difference and impacted everyone who knew him.
His legacy will carry on forever, reminding us that we control our own attitudes and to live a life of meaningful acts of love, service, and faith. May he rest in eternal peace free of pain and suffering, enjoying heaven's fairways and greens.
Art is survived by his beloved siblings; Jim Roberts (Marilyn), Patrick Roberts (Patti), Mary Zarzeski (Damon), Marc Roberts (Terry), and John Roberts (Joanna).
His son Brandon Roberts (Crissy) with his first wife Julie. Sons Ryan Roberts (Kayla), Taylor Jensen. TJ with second wife Nancy.
