Barney Michael Hayden

Hayden, Barney M., 76, of Tampa passed away on August 20, 2015.Born and raised in Durham, NC, Barney has been a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida for over 18 years. He was a resident at Rocky Creek Village for the last 12 months. Survivors include his sons, Christopher Hayden of Delaware ,Steve Hayden and wife Heather Hayden of Montpelier, VA; Sisters, Castle and Sharon Hayden, step brothers, Karl and Rich Bergenstal, grandchildren – Lauren Kate, Avery, Sydney and Joshua Hayden along with many friends. He was a Corporal and served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Barney was the owner of his own construction company and builder in the Washington, D.C /metro area for over 40 years. He loved his family and his two sons very much was also a sports fan with a loyalty to the Washington Redskins and Duke Basketball. He loved animals especially dogs to name a few: mugs- boxer, King Arthur- Golden Retriever and a beagle named Jake. His parents were Joseph Warren Hayden and Mary Gertrude Barneycastle. He was previously married to Nancy Jeffrey’s Hayden for 40 years who he also loved very much. In addition, the family will have a private ceremony in Solomons Island, MD.
