Bruce Wayne Chastain

B. Wayne Chastain died November 12, 2023 at Moffitt Cancer Center after a two year battle with several types of cancer. Wayne was born April 13, 1953 in Tampa, FL the son of the late John and Betty (Drawdy) Chastain. He was a graduate of the University of South Florida. He worked for many years for Lykes Bros before returning to school and receiving his Masters Degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Florida.

Wayne operated a successful carpentry business specializing in the restoration of older homes in the Hyde Park area.

He is survived by his wife Maureen, children Brooke (JJ) Juan, Kelly Kaplan, Sara (Mike) Giuli, Greg (Leslie) Melikian and Paul (Cristina) Melikian. His grandchildren Oscar & Marcus Melikian, Isaac Melikian, Tom, Rebecca, Jackson & Amara Giuli, Jaden & Leah Kaplan, Olivia & Evan Juan will miss their Papa as a larger than life presence in the lives. He is also survived by his brother Dennis Chastain and sister Cheryl Kassabaum.

His proudest accomplishment was that we merged two families seamlessly over 30 years ago and that this will sustain our family in the years to come.

Friends and family are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday November 16, 2023 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S MacDill Avenue, Tampa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 507 N Florida Avenue Tampa, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that the memorial contributions be made to the Moffitt Cancer Foundation.
