
Born in Habana, Cuba, Del Carmen De Las Mercedes Gutierrez arrived aboard the Mascotte at the tender age of 22 months and made Tampa her lifelong home.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Pablo (Paul) Herrera; parents Estelvina Gutierrez Perez & Enrique Gutierrez Sr.; a brother Enrique (Henry) Gutierrez Jr. (Covadonga) and sisters, Patria Gutierrez Herrera and Claudina Gutierrez Contreras (Willie). She is survived by a brother, Pastor Danilo Gutierrez (Frances) of Athens, TN; a son, Ernest Moreno Jr. (Jolyn), loving nieces & nephews, Carol C. Rodriguez (Bert), Tony Hero (Ginger), Lynn Childress, Albert Hero (Farrell) (Georgia), and devoted extended family members Desiree Madiedo (Christopher), Damien M. Rodriguez and Hilda Hernandez; grandmother of Andrew P. Moreno, Gina M. Maldonado (Jose Munoz) and Ernest Michael Moreno; great-grandmother of Rocky Moreno, Jessica Moreno, Paul Maldonado, Jose Munoz, Jr., and Ernest Michael (EJ) Moreno, Jr.

Catholic Service at Gonzalez Funeral Home on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 1:30 pm followed by internment at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 U.S. Hwy. 301 N. Thonotosassa, FL 33592 at 3 pm.
