Catherine Dianne May

Catherine May passed away peacefully on the morning of August 21, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 82. Born on August 27, 1942, Catherine was the daughter of Nathan and Catherine Hattenbach of Grove City, Ohio, the city where she was born.

Catherine graduated with Honors from Grove City High School in 1960 with a scholarship to attend college. She chose instead to enter the workforce and moved to California, where she worked for NASA as an Administrative Assistant.

She returned to Ohio and spent 17 years as the Clerk of Council for the City of Berea, Ohio, before moving to Tampa, Florida, in 1992. Once there, she had a career at TECO Energy from which she retired.

Catherine is survived by her sons, Ronald and Robert, her sister Kay Marshall, and her three grandchildren, Olivia, Emily and Ian May. Catherine’s final resting place will be next to her mother and father in Grove City, Ohio at the Concord Cemetery.

There will be a Celebration of Life, on September 12th in Tampa, Florida held in her memory.
