

After a protracted battle with cancer, Claudia Isabel Mujica-Ryerson died on November 27, 2015 in Tampa, FL at the age of 47. Claudia is survived by her husband, Gordon Ryerson and her sons Kristian and Julius Ryerson, her father Jose Mujica Sr., mother Scarlet Palumbo, brother and sister Jose and Adriana Mujica. Claudia was born on June 18, 1968, in Caracas, Venezuela and first immigrated to the United States when she was 14. Claudia graduated from The Academy of Art and Design where she entered into a career to follow her passion as a creative fashion designer of women’s clothing. Claudia married Gordon on May 22, 2010 and continued to live in Tampa where they raised their two sons. Claudia was designing for Chico’s when diagnosed with lung cancer in 2007, she remained dedicated to her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, her family, friends, and work which drove her desire to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman full of optimism, even throughout her final days. Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Sarasota National Cemetery, followed by life celebration services at Christ Community Church 6202 N Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33614 at 1pm with reception to follow.
