Claudia Vazquez

Claudia Vazquez, age 93, of Tampa, FL, closed her eyes and peacefully left her earthly body to be received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 19, 2026. She is survived by her loving son Lorenzo Vazquez (Vilma), her brother, Arsenio Opio, her daughter-in-law Carmen Vazquez, and her cherished grandchildren: Juan Rivera (Vicky), Adrian Rivera (Elizabeth), Lisa Rivera, David Rivera (Carmen), Daniella Martinez, Amelia Shaffer (David), Wendy Idiaquez (Luis), Bianca Renteria (Anthony), Eric Vazquez (Maripaz), Jessica Judiesch (Brian), Fatima Vazquez, Rebecca Vazquez, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Hilario “Abuelito” Vazquez, her beloved daughters, Carmen Yolanda Martinez and Nydia Rosaura Hernandez, her son, Hilario Vazquez, and her son-in-laws, Carlos Martinez and Juan Rivera.

Our beloved grandma was the heart of our family. Her love was demonstrated in many ways, especially in her kitchen through the delicious Puerto Rican meals she prepared and her abundant generosity towards her family and friends. Grandma, along with grandpa, enjoyed decades of great fellowship and memories with their church family and their many friends in the seniors group, Años Dorados (Golden Years). Many of whom have gone before her to their eternal rest.

Our family rejoices in the fact that grandma was surrounded by spiritual brothers and sisters in the faith who worshiped alongside her and spent time with her especially after her Husband passed. Her journey here on earth was marked by her adoring dedication to her Husband, her love for her family and friends, her spirit of adventure seen through the many trips and cruises she embarked on, and her unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a great void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her; however, we rejoice that she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her! We love you grandma and with great anticipation, we look forward to seeing your beautiful smile again!

A visitation will be held at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614, US, on March 27, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by a religious ceremony at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614, US, on March 27, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

A committal service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 US-301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592, US, on March 28, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
