Dada Andrews Pittman, 95, of Tampa, died Monday, April 12, 2021. Dada was the daughter of Dr. Chadbourne Avery Andrews and Katherine McNally Andrews. She was born in Tampa. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Frank “Red” Pittman, Jr., as well as her brother, C.A. Andrews, Jr. Dada is survived by her son, Richard A. “Red” Pittman (Kate) and Katherine Dada Glaser; 8 grandchildren: Daniel Pittman, Michael Pittman, Emily Pittman, Katie Glaser, Drew Glaser (Annie), Chad Glaser, Allyson Cooper and Jourdan Cooper. Dada attended Academy of the Holy Names, Stephens College, and University of North Carolina. After college, Dada worked as a Junior Red Cross Director, a teacher at Academy of the Holy Names and then Mitchell Elementary. Dada was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority (Past Alumnae President) and Merrymakers Club of Tampa (Former Sponsor). After marriage to “Red” Pittman, Dada began working with many civic associations such as Junior League of Tampa (Past President); Chiselers of University of Tampa; H. B. Plant Museum Society (Director and Secretary); Meals on Wheels; Salvation Army; American Red Cross Angels; Plant High School PTA (past Treasurer); Home Association of Tampa (Past Director, Secretary, and Admission Chairman); and Junior Woman’s Club. Dada was a lifelong member and faithful parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church. Dada was very much involved in Red Pittman’s career at the Tampa Tribune (former Publisher) and both worked tirelessly to support both The Tampa Tribune and the City of Tampa. Dada loved living in Tampa, playing bridge in several groups, socializing with her many friends, enjoying travel and spending time with her many grandchildren. Dada’s funeral mass will be on Monday, April 26 at 10:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. A private family burial will take place immediately after the service at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
