Dennis George Sanchez

Dennis is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Carol Valenti Sanchez, his daughter, Denise Sanchez Valdes; his two grandchildren, Kylie and JD; his brother Ray and his wife Marie, niece and nephew, Sabrina Morgan (Troy) and JC Sanchez (Karen); close cousin Marlene Ginex; sister-in-law Josette Valenti Edmondson, nephews Dylan and Alex Edmondson; and Judy Sanchez, the mother of his daughter. He is also survived by aunts Elba Ruilova, Frances Ginex, Dora Caltagirone (Joe); many numerous cousins and close friends.

Dennis was a graduate of HHS class of ’60, and the University of Tampa. He taught at King H.S. and Tampa Catholic, and served in the USCG. In the early 70’s, he was one of the owners of San Chez Lounge along with his father and brother. He was also one of three partners at the original Malio’s.

Dennis was a devoted father, and doting “Nano” to Kylie and JD. Dennis and Carol enjoyed 27 happy years together. They especially enjoyed their many sailing trips in the Caribbean.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, February 11, 2016, at 12pm with family and friends gathering at 11am at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33614, ph. 813-931-1833.
