

Earlene “Granny” Dixon, 88, passed away February 16, 2022 in Tampa, FL. Born in Black, Alabama, she moved to Tampa in 1950. Affectionately known as “Granny” by all that loved her, she came from a hard-working, farming family. She loved to cook and bake but most of all care for others. She lived her life for her grand and great grandchildren, many of whom she helped raise and nuture. She touched each person she met, if only briefly. She had a positive influence in every heart she touched and never cast judgement on anyone. Granny was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Vetulia Martin, husband Warren Dixon, brother Bartow Martin, sisters Jeanette Strickland and Eloise Jones and son-in-law Dennis Kolpin. She is survived by her son, Terry Dixon (Lynn); daughters Patricia Kolpin and Brenda Griffin (Don); grandchildren Shannon (Vicki), Scott (Jackie), Jason (Jennifer), Michael (Stacey), Christopher (Jenna), Bobby (Shawna), Kristin, and Tori Lynn; great grandchildren Dalton (Lily), Cailynn, Dylan, Emily, Gage, Angelyna, Mackenzie, Jett, Talan, Gabriel, Hailey, Madison, Parker, and Brantley with one great-great grandson on the way as well as many nieces and nephews. A visitation will take place on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5PM to 8PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home. Funeral services will then take place on Friday, February 25, 2022 beginning at 1PM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
