

90, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2015. A proud third generation Floridian from a pioneer family, she was born and raised in Tampa and graduated from Plant High. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and advocate for so many. Bette was happily employed by Jesuit High School for more than 25 years and served in various roles-- Registrar, Secretary to the Principal, the President, and Alumni Director. She loved being surrounded by smart and dedicated Jesuit priests and the students they were teaching to be “men for others” – including her own son and grandsons. She served on the board of Chrysalis House and volunteered at the Franciscan Center. Bette was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, G. Wayne Dewey, and her daughter, Deanne Dewey Roberts. She is survived by her son, Wayne E. Dewey and his wife Vicki and their son Justin, and grandsons Kirk (Aileen) and Kent (Stacey Nemeth) Roberts, relatives in the Durrance family, and many beloved nieces and nephews in the Jim and Muriel Loos family. A Memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held at Jesuit High School, 1701 North Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33714, at 7pm on Mon, March 2nd with a reception to follow.
