

He was one of thirteen children. He immigrated to the United States in 1948. Shortly afterwards he married Agustina, his wife of sixty years until her death in 2008. Erasmo had three children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He resided with his family in New York City, where he worked for forty years as a United States Postal employee in the Church Street Station across from the World Trade Centers twin towers.
Erasmo was a true New Yorker as he was an avid baseball fan of the New York Yankees. He enjoyed music and dancing with his wife and would frequently socialize in the Manhattan nightlife during the 50’s and 60’s.
Erasmo will best be remembered for his strong work ethic and his love and commitment of his family.
Erasmo is survived by two of his three children, William (Bill) Vargas and Ann Vargas-Grimaldi, and his sister Brigida Vargas. His seven grandchildren, Sonia Karina Crawford-Vargas, Alan Vargas, William (Billy) Vargas, Amanda Vargas, Gabrielle Vargas, twins Isabella Grimaldi and Roberto Grimaldi. He also leaves his five-great grandchildren: Carolina Marmolejo, Estephanie Marmolejo, Eric Crawford and twins Marcos and Zoe Vargas-Nunez. Along with various nieces, nephews and cousins.
