Fred was born in Bellwood, IL to Catherine Furlong Meyer on February 28, 1948. He went to school at Oak Park River Forest High School. He married Diana Christine Worrell on November 27, 1970 in Chicago. He graduated from Eckerd College. He worked for more than 20 years with the City of Tampa’s Community Redevelopment Agency helping low-income residents purchase their first homes.
Fred is preceded in death by his mother Catherine and daughter Amy.
Fred is survived by his wife Diana Meyer, his son Jeff Meyer, his daughter-in-law Melissa Meyer, his grandson Tyler Meyer, his brother John Meyer, his sister-in-law Cindy Meyer, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, Florida 33614 on Monday July 28 starting at 4 PM
