

Geary Allen Jarrett was welcomed into heaven on February 20, 2022. Born in Danville, Virginia on April 1, 1953. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert Allen Jarrett and Betty F Griffith, and his nephew, Jason D. Scheuerman. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan Robertson Jarrett and one son, Dr. Scott Allen Jarrett, Boston MA. Additionally, his two sisters, Joyce J. Purnell, Mathews, NC and Anne J. Scheuerman, of Angier, NC. Geary has many nieces and nephews who called him “Uncle Bubba” and many extended family members and friends.
Geary formerly lived in Lynchburg, VA. from 1971- 2002 where he attended Lynchburg College and was an active member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church. Upon moving to Tampa, Geary joined Idlewild Baptist Church where he served as deacon, choir member, and Bible teacher and served on multiple mission trips to Zambia, Mission of Love Community Orphanage and Nazareth School in Israel. Geary also volunteered at several local nursing homes and enjoyed working with seniors.
Geary will be missed deeply by his wife, son, sisters, extended family and friends and remembered for his baritone voice and kind gentle spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mission of Love Community Orphanage at 11919 Keating Drive, Tampa FL 33626 or the Music Ministry of Idlewild Baptist Church at 18333 Exciting Idlewild Blvd, Lutz, FL 33548
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM at Idlewild Baptist Church, Lutz, FL
