

Georganne Demotses, ARNP, LTC (Ret) US Army Nurse Corps, a gifted artist with a beautiful smile, died at home surrounded by the people and dogs she loved most in the world on Saturday, September 6, 2025, after a long illness with Alzheimer’s Disease.
She was born on December 24, 1946, in Bridgeport, CT to George Andrew and Ethel Belle (Neal) Demotses.
She attended high school at Jonathan Law High School in Milford, CT, studied at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, studied for an RN degree from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Fort Worth, Texas and received a BSN in Nursing and BA in Fine Arts from the University of South Florida (USF). She completed her master’s degree in nursing at USF, practicing as a clinical ARNP in the Tampa Bay area for many years: Tampa General Hospital, All Children’s Hospital in St. Pete, served as the Nursing Director of Children’s Medical Services (CMS) and provided patient care at LifePath Hospice before retiring.
Georganne was commissioned into the US Army Nurse Corps, attending school and training in San Antonio, Tx, William Beaumont General Hospital in El Paso, Tx, the hospital at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and 2 years at Tripler Army Medical Center in Oahu, Hawaii. She was called to active duty for Desert Shield/Storm-awarded The Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) for outstanding service. She retired as a Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) proudly serving 26 years of military service.
With art as her first love, Georganne could always be found with a sketch pad, pen, colored pencils, and watercolor tools whether in her home studio, at a social event or hiking around Tampa Bay. She loved animals, but especially dogs, providing a caring, safe and fun home for many rescues over the years.
She is survived by her cousins Mary Sagarin of CT and Carl Demotses of Tarpon Springs, her life partner, Dr. Lynn Ringenberg of Tampa, along with her cherished dogs: Piper, Molly and Maggie.
Special thanks to the team of caregivers from The Legacy Care at Home, Morpheus Wellness, and LifePath Hospice for providing professional care, comfort, laughter and love during this difficult period.
Per her wishes, cremation and a private service will be held at a later date.
