Gina Marie Rey

REY, Gina Marie, 52, passed away on April 10, 2016 in Tampa, FL. She was born in Queens, NY and moved to Tampa in 1973. Gina attended St. Patrick Catholic School and Tampa Catholic before going on to graduate from Mercer University with her psychology degree and USF with her education degree. Gina was a teacher at Morning Star School where she taught children with learning challenges. Teaching was her passion. The warmth and compassion she showed her students had a positive impact on their lives through the years. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Steve Rey; sons Drew and Blake Rey; mother Mary Galantino; brother Nick Galantino (Karon LoCicero) and their children Sharon, Brittany, and Nicholas; brother Pete Galantino and daughter Isabelle; brother Michael Galantino as well as several cousins, family and friends. A visitation will take place on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 6 to 8PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home. A mass will then be celebrated on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with interment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Bladder Cancer Society.
