James Michael Abbott

60, of Apollo Beach,formerly of South Tampa,passed away on June 27, 2015. He was born on April 11, 1955 at Tampa General Hospital. His family and doctors endearingly referred to him as the “Iron Man.” Mike devoted many years to Tampa Bay Little League as a coach to his daughters and the H.B. Plant H.S. softball team maintaining the field. His girls were the center of his universe. He was truly their biggest fan. He enjoyed collecting coins and model cars. Mike is predeceased by his mother, Inez Abbott. He leaves behind his loving and caring wife of 40years, Shannon; three beloved daughters, ShawnLocks (Brandon), Kristen, Tiffany Udvadia (Ed);granddaughter, Annabelle; father, James Abbott; brother, Tim (Cathy) Abbott; In-laws, Sam and Sue Erwin;brother in-laws Steve Erwin (Grace), Scott Erwin(Katrina) and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Green Team of Life Path Hospice.The family will receive friends on Friday,July 3, 2015 from 4pm-6pm at the Blount &Curry Funeral Home, 605 MacDill Ave, Tampa,FL 33609.
