

James Meade Faulkner, born December 12, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Winifred and Charles Faulkner, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. Formerly of Maryland, James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
James married the love of his life, Rose Faulkner, on June 14, 1969, in Catonsville, Maryland. They spent 55 years of marriage together before she passed away in May 2024.
James served in the army where he met his wife, Rose, at the USO. James pursued his passion for the arts, earning his undergraduate degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He went on to work for Shock Trauma and State of Maryland. James loved sharing stories about his work which included work with Governor Donald Schaffer’s office. Jim got to organize Preakness, All-Star, and Cal Ripken events. He also helped decorate the State House Christmas tree each year.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Korin Martin, her husband, Jeff Martin, and his treasured granddaughter, Marie Martin, who brought immense joy to his life. James is also survived by his siblings: Charles “Chuck” Faulkner (Jill), Richard “Dick” Faulkner (Ruth), Sarah Kunert, and Suzanne Savage (Bill).
James will be laid to rest alongside his beloved Rose at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, Maryland, at a future date.
A gathering of family and friends for James will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609, followed by a memorial service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
