

Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Lynette Pitisci and his parents Theresa Pitisci and James Vincent Pitisci, Sr. Jim is survived by his son James Vincent Pitisci, III, grandsons Vincent James Pitisci and Anthony Louis Pitisci, sisters Mary Frances Pitisci-Radcliff (Leo) and Karen Ann Pitisci, brother Michael Pitisci, brothers-in-law James Gilbert, Jerry Gilbert and Joseph Gilbert (Melody), sisters-in-law Lorie Gilbert and Lisa Gilbert. Jim is also survived by aunts Patricia Perez (Ed) and Benedicta Harris, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was a graduate of Tampa Catholic High School class of 1974. He attended St. Petersburg College and Hillsborough Community College. Jim also attended professional umpiring college at Wendelstedt Umpire School. After graduating from umpiring school, Jim immediately broke into umpiring high school, college and professional ball. In 2000 Jim was selected to umpire the Olympic Baseball Games in Tampa, Florida.
Jim worked for the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation for 37 years. Jim’s love of sports, especially baseball was embedded in him at an early age. He also loved working with children teaching them the fundamentals of sports, which helped develop them for the future.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Mass beginning promptly at 12:00 noon.
