

Joan Evelyn Hoag passed away peacefully Thursday, April 20th at her home in Wesley Chapel surrounded by her loved ones. Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Family was very important to her and Joan was the heart of her family. She was a loving, kind, Christian and non-judgemental woman who opened her heart to everyone. Joan was active in her community, a board member of Carrollwood Meadows and a member of Young at Heart senior group. Joan was a retired camera department manager at Walgreens.
Joan was born at her home in Allum Creek, West Virginia on September 19, 1941. Joan was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hoag on January 23, 2011, her parents Catherine & Joe Kinder, her brother Joe Kinder, her sister Sandra McClure, her nephew Michael Summerall and niece Erica Walters.
Joan’s children are going to miss her very much and are son Wesley McCutcheon Jr and his wife Angie McCutcheon of Tampa Florida and loving daughters Teresa Jones and Tina Whalen of Wesley Chapel Florida.
Joan was a wonderful grandmother to her 9 grandchildren - Erica McCutcheon, Meagan Wolf (husband Steve Wolf), Stephanie Ford, Melinda McCutcheon, Ronnie McCutcheon, David Whalen, Christian Whalen, Andrew McCutcheon and Allie McCutcheon. Joan also doted on her 5 great-grandsons - Bradley Ford, Nathaniel McCutcheon, Caleb Ford, Garrett Wolf and Dylan Gates.
Joan’s sisters will also miss her greatly. They are Janet Walters of Chiefland Florida and Elizabeth (Ann) Corning of Potwin Kansas. Joan’s nieces and nephews are Lisa Adkins, Cathy Demonbreun, Beverlee Summerall, Misty McClure, Becky Spears, Gerald Spears and Amy Hajdukovich.
The following gentlemen will serve as pall bearers at the service: Ronnie McCutcheon, Andrew McCutcheon, Steve Wolf, Rob Whorley, Kevin Salvagni, Kyle Wilson, CJ Gates and Tony Ford.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 11AM to 12Noon with funeral services beginning at 12Noon at Gonzalez Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, FL. Arrangements under the direction of Gonzalez Funeral Home, Tampa, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gulf Coast Hospice.
