Joe Elena Heinz

Joe Elena Heinz, 73, Tampa, FL, passed away November 29, 2015 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She will be remembered by her husband Eugene Heinz; her children Rip Weachter (Teresa), Kristen Elena Chapman (Brady); stepdaughters Greta Brooks (Stephen), Heidi Wilson (Chris); stepson Christian Heinz (Lynn); brothers Rodney Marchetta, Don McClain Jr. (Sandy); her nine beloved grandchildren Katie, Allie and John Weachter, Calvin, Joslyn Elena and Lillian Chapman, Spencer and Garrett Brooks, and Kassidy Heinz; nephews Donnie and Zachary McClain; niece Madison McClain. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Marchetta; mother Olga Elena McClain, and stepfather Donald McClain. Joe Elena was a life long Tampa resident. She was a graduate of H.B. Plant High School, University of Florida and University of South Florida where she ultimately received her Master’s Degree of Education. Joe Elena began her career as a teacher, was local Director of the American Cancer Society, and completed her professional career as an insurance agent at Rip Weachter Insurance Agency. Joe Elena proudly served on the Tampa General Hospital Authority and was a founding member of the Tampa General Hospital Foundation. She was a member of The Tampa Club and Tampa Yacht and Country Club. Her passion for travel and cruising with her husband, Gene, led her to enjoy the beauty of 6 continents where she chronicled all her experiences for her loved ones to cherish. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Joe Elena’s life, Monday, December 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; 9-10am for Family Visitation with Mass beginning at 10am.
