Taylor, Katharine McLean 94, of Tampa passed away on February 26, 2015. Known affectionately by friends and family as "Aunt Kakie," she was born in Greenwood, Mississippi in 1920. After graduating from Ole Miss, she earned a masters at Columbia University, New York City. Aunt Kakie became a kindergarten teacher at St. Luke's School in Greenwich Village. Later as principal, she played a tremendous role in shaping the lives of the children and families of the St. Luke's community for 36 years. Retiring to Tampa in 1981, Aunt Kakie again established a full life for herself taking care of her roses, volunteering at the Tampa Museum of Art and St. John's Episcopal School, and playing bridge with her many friends. She is survived by her sister, Anne McLean Henderson; brother, George A. McLean and many devoted nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be Friday, March 6, 2015, 12pm, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 902 S. Orleans, Tampa. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. John's Episcopal Church.
