Kirby Dwight Hiers

Kirby is survived by his wife, Mary Hiers; children, Derek Hiers of Ooltewah, TN and Jonathan Hiers of Tampa, FL; siblings, Richard Hiers of Knoxville, TN. He is preceded in death by parents, Ronnie and Opal Hiers of Tampa, FL and sister Deborah Smith of Tampa, FL.

Kirby was born on October 7th, 1947 in Tampa, FL to Ronnie and Opal Hiers. He graduated from Plant High in 1965 and later graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Mass Communications. He married his loving and caring wife Mary, in 1979. After moving to Houston, TX for a couple years, they returned to Tampa and Kirby began working for Suddath Relocation Systems as National Accounts Manager in 1984. Over his 30 years of employment with Suddath, Kirby demonstrated a hard-working, dedicated and passionate role in sales with many friendships forged along the way.

Kirby’s most known for his warm and playful nature that always left people with a smile. He loved his family, he loved his friends, he loved exploring in all areas of life and finding little treasures from small town diners to new unique people. He also loved the waters around Tampa Bay and would be quite content just staring across the beautiful water.

A funeral is scheduled for 3pm July 13th, 2024 at Blount & Curry Life Event Center – MacDill Avenue 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kirby's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org. Condolences can be be published below.
