Lucille Cocoma, mother to Janel Cocoma and Michelle Hellmers, passed away on September 7th at 10pm after a long battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Her final moments were spent peacefully at Tampa General Hospital surrounded by her family.
Known for her generous heart and passion for rescuing dogs, Lucy will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Lucy’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her daughters, Janel and Michelle; their father, John; her brother, Jimmy; her sisters, Ellen, Winnie, Ronnie, and Kathy, and her beloved dogs, Corona and Freddie.
A Celebration of Lucy's Life will be held at Blount & Curry Life Event Center 605 S MacDill Ave. Tampa, FL on Saturday, September 14th at 1pm. In lieu of flowers or memorial gifts, we encourage donations to end IPF through research ipffoundation.org in her memory.
