Luis H. Gomez

A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 5th at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33614.

Luis was born October 21, 1930, in Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic to Luis Geronimo Gomez and Isabel Emilia Mejia. He was married to Ana Mercedes Santana in 2010 where they lived in Tampa, Florida. Luis was a tenacious and loving man. Although, he only went to the 4th grade he was a smart and witty. He taught himself how to read and write and learn a second language all with taking care of his family. In his earlier years he was a dedicated civil engineer and later became a entrepreneur. Luis loved baseball (Go Red Sox!) and never missed a boxing fight. He enjoyed being with family listening to his favorite Bachata and, of course, playing Dominoes.

Luis is survived by his wife Ana Mercedes Santana and 7 children: Ramonsito, Lourdes, Roberto, Ermidio, Xiomara, Angel and Wineska; he was also survived by 19 grandchildren: Luis Ramon, Luis Manuel, Vanessa, Indira, Jerry, Luis (Bebe), Robert (tato), Aiesha, Vanessa, Anthony, Ana Maria, Luis (cucho), Raymundo, Xiomara Yessenia, Angel Luis, Angel Omar, Joice Marie, Alejandro Luis, and Keyla and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Luis Gomez, Digna Mejia and Siblings.

Se llevará a cabo un servicio de celebración de vida a las 5:00 p.m., el Viernes 5 de Febrero en Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33614.

Luis nació el 21 de Octubre de 1930 en Hato Mayor, República Dominicana de Luis Geronimo Gómez y Isabel Emilia Mejía. Estuvo casado con Ana Mercedes Santana en el 2010 donde vivían en Tampa, Florida. Luis era un hombre tenaz y cariñoso. Aunque, solo fue al cuarto grado, era inteligente e ingenioso. Aprendió a leer y escribir por sí mismo, mientras cuidaba de su familia. En sus años laborables se dedico hacer un Ingeniero civil y empresario. Luis era un gran fantico de la pelota (¡Go Red Sox!) Y nunca se perdía una pelea de boxeo. Disfrutaba estar con la familia escuchando Bachata y, por supuesto, jugando al dominó.

A Luis le sobreviven su esposa Ana Mercedes Santana y 7 hijos: Ramonsito, Lourdes, Roberto, Ermidio, Xiomara, Angel y Wineska; también le sobrevivieron 19 nietos: Luis Ramon, Luis Manuel, Vanessa, Indira, Jerry, Luis (Bebe), Robert (tato), Aiesha, Vanessa, Anthony, Ana Maria, Luis (cucho), Raymundo, Xiomara Yessenia, Angel Luis, Angel Omar, Joice Marie, Alejandro Luis y Keyla y muchos bisnietos. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres Luis Gómez, Isabel Mejía y sus hermanos.
