Marilyn Jeanne Breton, born September 23, 1945, left this world on February 15, 2025, at the age of 79. Though she called many places home, Marilyn touched hearts far and wide with her vibrant spirit and unforgettable humor. She loved Snoopy like a long-lost friend and rocked her colorful Crocs like a true fashion icon.
Throughout her life, Marilyn wore many hats—literally as part of the Red Hatters and metaphorically throughout her career. Her 35-year marriage to Michael was one of her greatest achievements, showcasing her unwavering commitment and love. As an Army Civilian Technician, Marilyn dedicated years to making a difference. She served with pride in the Army Reserve for over 20 years, reaching the rank of Sargent first class. She was a veteran of Desert Storm and balanced strength and compassion in equal measure
Marilyn's community involvement was every bit as remarkable as her professional life. Whether volunteering for the USO, lending her time at the local hospital, or cheering on participants in the Relay for Life for Breast Cancer, Marilyn gave selflessly. Her humor made everyone feel at ease, and her sarcasm often left family and friends chuckling.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Michael, her daughters Terri, Tina, and Collette, her son Steven (and wife Kate), and her brothers Bruce and Dennis (with wife Karen) along with her grandchildren Adam Dedie, Amanda Dedie, Andrew Lockwood, Hannah Berning, Dawson Brown, Lindsey Frank, Courtney Flores. She is also survived by her great grandson Devin Flores and several nieces and nephews. Her father, Norman Slater, and her mother, Wilma (Connie), welcomed her into the afterlife.
Services will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Thursday, February 20th, 2025 at 11am., where we will celebrate Marilyn's extraordinary life. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to AccentCare Hospice Foundation at 17855 North Dallas Parkway, Suite 200, Dallas, TX 75287 USA.
Let us remember Marilyn as she would want: reflecting on John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
