Mary Helen Fernandez passed away on August 27, 2016, at the age of 95 of natural causes. A lifelong Floridian, she is survived by her daughter, Cecelia F. Vance, her son-in-law, R. Douglas Vance, Jr., and two granddaughters, Lyra Vance and Tara Vance. Mary Helen retired from the Hillsborough County school system in 1996 after a long and rewarding career of thirty-eight years. The family would like to thank Patty's House in Dover and the Purple Hospice Team for their kindness and support. A funeral mass will be held on September 1, 2016 at 2PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Florida Ave. Private interment to follow.
