Mary Lou Newson

Mary Lou “Granny” Newson, 82, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2015. She was born on July 2, 1933 in Abbeville, AL to John C. Forrester and Gussie Mae Lynn. She was educated in Dothan, AL. On May 14, 1953, Mary Lou Forrester was joined in holy matrimony to Willie James Newson in Dothan, AL and shortly thereafter, the two newlyweds, made a move to Cleveland, OH. Mary was the mother of three children, Johnny C. Forrester, Michelle N. Newson, and Paula J. Newson. Anyone that knew Granny, knew she LOVED Willie James Newson and her family. Mary Lou was truly a woman of God – a faithful wife and mother who prayed without ceasing. She raised her children in holiness and taught them to have faith in God. In 2012, Mary Lou and Willie James Newson moved to Brandon, FL and found peace and happiness in their new home. Mary Lou leaves to cherish her memory: devoted and loving husband, Mr. Willie James Newson; daughters, Michelle N. Miles (Adonis), Paula J. Collins (Mark, deceased), and Johnny Forrester (Barbara); Brother-in-Law, Samuel Newson; Grandson, Erich M. Newson (Nicole), Grand-daughters Kristi, and Kimberly; and great grand children Asia, Aspen, and Austin; and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:15am – 11:00am followed by a service at 11am. Both will be at the Bible-Based Fellowship Church (4811 Ehrlich Rd. Tampa, FL 33624) on Saturday, August 8, 2015.
