

VALIENTE, Odilia passed away November 24, 2017 at the age of 86. She was born in Bejucal, Cuba. In the early 1960’s, she migrated to the United States with her husband, Jose Ramon Valiente, and her two children, Jose E. Valiente and Isabel C. Valiente. She is preceded by the death of her husband Jose Ramon Valiente, her daughter Isabel C. Valiente, her brother Divaldo Leon, her sister Isabel Diaz Leon, and her parents Felix Leon and her mother Lilia Trujillo. She is survived by her son Jose E. Valiente and his wife Lourdes Valiente, granddaughters Melissa Lemus (Nelson) and Lauren Valiente, great-grandsons Anthony Vara and Nelson Diaz, nieces Ileana Diaz (Orlando), Dania Leon and Odalys Valiente, nephews Daniel Leon, Jorge Valiente, and Danilo Valiente, brother-in-law Jorge Danilo Valiente, and countless friends in the community.
Upon arrival in the US, she got a job as a seamstress at Tropical Garment, where she worked for 30 years and retired as a Supervisor. During that time, she developed many genuine lifetime friendships with many of her co-workers, which lasted until her passing.
The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Amoedo’s ALF for their dedicated care of Odilia, specifically, Hugo and Amarylis, Grisel, Consuelo, Caridad, Magalys and Maritza.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017, from 6 - 9 pm at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33614. Graveside service scheduled for Tuesday, November 28, 2017, 10:00 am at Garden of Memories.
